Central idea - People play leading roles in society which result in change.
Dad: I think that in any society change is necessary in order to improve peoples lives.
For this to happen individuals need to play leading roles to convince others to make these changes.
This can happen at the local level or at the national level, or international level. For example: Director Barry and others at ISPP, are playing a leading role to create a scholarship program,which may result in certain local children receiving an education that goes beyond what they can currently hope for. At a national level, Mahatma Gandhi, in India, fought for independence through non violent means. Internationally, the secretary general of the UN plays a leading role, in adressing many problems, that affect more than one country. All of these people lead the way in making changes to improve peoples lives.
Mom: Someone who is able to influence others to do things differently for the better.
A leader does not have to be the strongest person, or the one with the loudest voice,
but someone with conviction and courage to stand up and get something done.
Me: I think this means that someone takes charge to do something that they think is right, to make their society a better or worse place. For example down below:
